Jewellery Care Guide

Caring for Your Vrindae Argente Pieces

Each Vrindae Argente piece is crafted in fine silver to be worn, loved, and passed down. With a little care, it will keep its shine for years to come. Here's how to look after it.

Wearing Your Jewellery

  • Put your jewellery on last — after applying perfume, lotion, or hairspray.
  • Remove rings, bracelets, and bangles before swimming, bathing, exercising, or doing household chores.
  • Take off your pieces before sleeping to avoid unnecessary friction or bending.
  • Avoid direct contact with chlorine, sea water, and sweat for prolonged periods, as these can dull silver over time.

Cleaning Your Silver

Silver naturally tarnishes when exposed to air and moisture — this is normal and doesn't mean the piece is damaged.

For light tarnish:

  • Gently rub the surface with a soft, lint-free polishing cloth or a clean microfibre cloth.
  • Use gentle, back-and-forth strokes rather than circular ones for engraved or textured surfaces.

For deeper tarnish:

  • Mix a few drops of mild, phosphate-free dish soap with lukewarm water.
  • Soak the piece for 2–3 minutes, then clean gently with a soft-bristled brush (an old, soft toothbrush works well).
  • Rinse thoroughly with clean water and pat dry immediately with a soft cloth.
  • Avoid this method for pieces with gemstones, pearls, or delicate finishes — wipe these with a dry cloth only.

Avoid:

  • Toothpaste, baking soda, or any abrasive household cleaners.
  • Ultrasonic cleaners, unless you're certain your piece has no stones or oxidised detailing.
  • Harsh chemical silver dips, which can strip intentional oxidised or matte finishes.

Storing Your Jewellery

  • Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined jewellery box to prevent scratching and tangling.
  • Keep jewellery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity.
  • Anti-tarnish strips or silica gel sachets in your jewellery box can slow down tarnishing.
  • Avoid storing silver in the bathroom or near windows, where moisture and light exposure are highest.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

  • Oxidised and antique finishes are intentional design details — please avoid polishing these areas, as cleaning can remove the contrast that defines the design.
  • Gemstones and pearls should never be soaked; clean only with a dry, soft cloth.
  • Plating (if applicable) is delicate — keep gold or rhodium-plated pieces away from harsh chemicals and excessive rubbing to preserve the finish.

When to Seek Professional Care

If a piece has lost its shine despite home cleaning, or if a clasp, setting, or chain needs repair, we recommend reaching out to us directly rather than attempting repairs at home. This helps preserve the integrity and warranty of your piece.

With the right care, your Vrindae Argente jewellery is made to last — a quiet companion through everyday moments and the ones worth remembering.
